Sessions are led by a senior coach and supported by junior coaches, with each practice designed to promote skill development in a positive, energetic, and supportive learning environment.
The program includes one practice or training session and one game per week. Volunteer coaches will receive a rebate on their volunteer fee in recognition of their time, commitment, and contribution to the program.

The NCFC Juniors Program falls within the Discover Phase of our Player Development Phases (PDP). In these training sessions, players will be encouraged to be with a ball as much as possible. All sessions in the Discover Phase will have a ball per player for at least 75% of the training session so they begin to feel comfortable on the ball.
The emphasis will be on teaching our younger players how to move and manipulate the ball. NCFC want to develop players who are confident and comfortable with the ball at their feet. We will also expose the players to game realistic scenarios that will develop their dribbling and scoring (shooting) skills. This will come in the form of 1 vs. 1 situations, and various fun activities with a focus on learning proper dribbling and kicking technique. With more touches on the ball, their skill development will progress faster and this will build a strong foundation for the latter stages of athlete development, including playing as a team. Small-sided games and scrimmages will ONLY be introduced in the U5/U6 age groups.
Our program director will work closely with NCFC Junior Trainers and Parent Coaches to run group activities, skills training and small sided games each week.
Parents may volunteer as a Coach to assist with running the weekly activities and will receive a $50 refund at the end of the season.
